My client's brief here was to achieve a look of "rustic elegance". This project was in the main more to take out, than to put in. So we revealed and restored the beautiful original timber beams. We removed most of the plaster and mortar off the main walls, and in doing so found some beautiful arched brickwork. The other walls were fully refurbished back to new. We removed the upstairs walls and false ceilings, and opened up the wall of the office to give a view point downstairs. All the internal windows and doors were restored. A new entrance of wood and glass was designed and built. New electrics, lighting, plumbing, a new bathroom and a small tiled food preparation area installed.
